A milestone agreement was signed for the establishment of an Oncology Center in Limassol that will include, among other things, the provision of radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments.

YGIA Polyclinic in collaboration with the Cyprus Healthcare Group, a partner of American Organisation's Allegheny Health Network, specializing in the field of cancer, sealed their cooperation listening to the needs of Cypriot patients and the possibility of attracting patients from abroad.

The Oncology Center will expand the existing services provided by YGIA Polyclinic, since an important element of the cooperation is the fact that before the end of the first half of 2016 there will be a Radiotherapy Department.

The Allegheny Health Network is a well-known American health network with Centers of Excellence, awarded for best practices and treatment outcomes in patients with various types of cancer.  The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute will support the center in Limassol by providing know-how, training and research.

Allegheny's interdisciplinary team, specifically the Department of Radiation Oncology, has been accredited and distinguished for its high level of treatment, care and safety by cancer patients, by the American College of Radiology ACR and the American Radiation Oncology ASTRO.

The agreement between YGIA Polyclinic and the Cyprus Healthcare Group is expected to be strengthened with the cooperation of Cypriot Scientists, as Allegheny is activated with a network of doctors of various specialties, who promote research programs for the treatment of cancer.

YGIA Polyclinic

YGIA Polyclinic is the oldest Private Hospital in Cyprus.  It was founded in 1983 and commenced its operation in 1987.  YGIA Polyclinic is the largest and one of the most well-equipped Private Hospitals.  It offers high quality medical and nursing care.

It has 152 beds and 12 operating rooms.  Among other things, YGIA Polyclinic also offers a Clinical Laboratory, an X-Ray Department, an MRI and CT scan Department, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 24-hour First Aid Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Pediatric Department as well as Pediatric Center which operates on a 24-hour basis to deal with scheduled and emergency cardiac events.
