Commencement of Infrastructure for an Oncology Center at YGIA Polyclinic - Chemotherapy Treatments as of January and Radiotherapies as of April

The works for establishing an Oncology Centres at YGIA Polyclinic in Limassol have commenced, which will offer Chemotherapies as of January and Radiotherapies as of April 2017.

The Swedish giant Elekta signed a contract with YGIA Polyclinic's Oncology Centre on 24th November, for the setting up the infrastructure and installing state-of-the-art equipment for the provision of radiotherapies.

The agreement envisages the establishment of all the required infrastructure, and the installation of state-of-the-art equipment and softwares that allow the immediate initiation of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment at YGIA Polyclinic.  More specifically, cancer patients will have the opportunity to undergo chemotherapy treatments as of January and radiotherapy treatments as of April 2017.

YGIA Polyclinic's Oncology Center has been established jointly by YGIA Polyclinic  and Curis Oncology, in collaboration with the AHN Cancer Institute based in the USA.  The AHN Cancer Institute consists of 43 oncology centers and is the largest network accredited by the American Association of Oncology Radiation Therapy (ASTRO).

With the signing of the agreement, the parties concerned have commonly agreed in organizing an international conference in Cyprus entitled "Disruptive Innovations in Cancer Therapy", which will host distinguished scientists in the international field of oncology as speakers, supporting in this way the wider efforts made in the context of making Cyprus a center of medical tourism.
