DR. GEORGIOS GEORGIOU

General Surgeon – Proctologist

Dr. Georgios Georgiou is a specialised General Surgeon and Proctologist with many years of training in Germany. He is a graduate of the University of Debrecen Medical School in Hungary. After his studies in Hungary, he worked for twelve years in major clinics in Germany, gaining significant experience and expertise in the most modern methods of treating diseases in his field, such as advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.

After completing the required years of Surgical Training, with successful participation in all relevant examinations, he was awarded the specialty title of General Surgeon (Facharzt für Viszeralchirurgie) by the German Medical Association (Ärztekammer Nordrhein-Westfalen).

He worked as a Consultant at the Department of General, Gastrointestinal and Oncological Surgery in Sana Krankenhaus Gerresheim, Dusseldorf. During his collaboration with the clinic, Dr. Georgiou showed a special interest in proctology. After some time, he obtained the specialty title in Proctology from the German Medical Association (Ärztekammer Nordrhein-Westfalen). 

 It is worth noting that Dr. Georgiou performed numerous open and laparoscopic - minimally invasive - operations on patients with cancer or other diseases of the large and small intestine, proctological diseases, as well as on patients with diseases from the entire spectrum of general surgery, such as abdominal hernias and gallstones during his training in Germany.

Dr. Georgiou is a member of the German Medical Association (Ärztekammer Nordrhein-Westfalen), the Cyprus Medical Association as well as the Hellenic Society of Coloproctology.
