Participation at the International Ambulance Competition “EMS Aphrodite Rally 2017”
A crew team of Nurses and a paramedic title holder driver of the Ambulance Department at YGIA Polyclinic, participated at the 6th Cyprus Ambulance Crew Contest 2017.
Every 2 years, the International Ambulance Competition “EMS Aphrodite Rally” takes place in Cyprus, in collaboration with the Cyprus Ambulance Services. The competition is based on international standards, with the aim of continuously training ambulance crews and exchanging experiences and skills based on unified policies and guidelines.
The competition took place in Ayia Napa in the province of Famagusta, with 35 teams of international level participating such as Lebanon, Portugal, Greece, Estonia and the British Bases team.
YGIA Polyclinic’s crew competed in the “Doctors - Nurses” category and won the following positions:
- 9th place in the “trauma” category.
- 17th place in the “cardio” category.
- 21st place in the “mass casualty” category.
- 10th place in the final category.
Each group competed under 10 different scenarios, the cases of which concerned the treatment of patients with heart failure, injuries, electronic simulation of an emergency pathological event as well as the management of mass health losses.
