Dr Ioannis Kazakos

Dr Kazakos served as Head Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist at AIMIS CLINICS Athonitissa in Limassol, Cyprus from March 2022 until the end of 2023. His responsibilities included leading the Obstetrics and Gynecology department within the GESY/NHS system, conducting outpatient clinics multiple times a week, and managing a wide range of obstetric and gynecological cases, including high-risk pregnancies, minimally invasive surgeries, fertility treatments, and cervical pathology. Additionally, he performed as Chief Surgeon in various gynecological surgeries and supervised the academic training of medical students from St. George’s University of London and the University of Nicosia Medical School. From September 2017 to February 2022, he held the position of Senior Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist at Limassol General Hospital, a major university hospital in Cyprus. Here, he oversaw surgical operations and day surgery units, conducted outpatient clinics, and provided critical care in the labor ward. His role also involved significant academic responsibilities, such as training junior doctors and medical students. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively in Athens, Greece, including at IASO Maternity Hospital and GAIA Maternity Hospital from 2010 to 2017. In these roles, he was involved in numerous deliveries and gynecological surgeries, both open and minimally invasive. He also managed outpatient consultations and fertility treatments. Furthermore, his tenure at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens' Attikon University General Hospital included significant research responsibilities and teaching roles, where he contributed to pioneering fetal monitoring techniques and educating medical students and residents. His comprehensive training and diverse experience across multiple esteemed institutions have equipped him with a robust foundation in obstetrics and gynecology, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective medical education.
