Dr Georgios Konstantinidis

Dr. Georgios Konstantinidis MD, PhD, born in 1978 in Thessaloniki, is a former Lecturer at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, and a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he completed his basic medical studies. He trained in Orthopedics at various hospitals in Thessaloniki, earning two scholarships, and subsequently specialized at the research center of the University of Cologne and St. Anna Orthopaedic Clinic in Herne, Germany. In 2013, he was honored with a scholarship from the European Federation of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) and completed the EFORT Travelling Fellowship, gaining significant expertise in traumatology. Dr. Konstantinidis served as a member of the medical team for Macedonikos Basketball Club in 2008-2009 and for professional football club ARIS from 2008 to 2013. In 2014, he undertook a three-year fellowship in top orthopedic centers abroad:

  • Knee, ankle, and foot surgery at Adelaide Orthosports Clinic and Flinders University Medical Centre, Adelaide, Australia.
  • Shoulder, ankle, and foot surgery at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand.
  • Sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery (Joint Preservation, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy) at Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada.

Over the last five years, he has practiced at the orthopedic clinic of Royal Darwin Hospital, NT, Australia, performing an average of 600 surgical procedures annually. His academic research includes 18 articles in international scientific journals and four chapters in classic orthopedic textbooks, including Chapman’s Comprehensive Orthopaedics. He has participated in over 100 conferences and seminars in Greece and abroad, presenting more than 70 oral and poster presentations. Dr. Konstantinidis specializes in modern surgical techniques for the shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and foot, as well as sports injuries, including minimally invasive arthroscopic and percutaneous surgical interventions, and biological therapies in regenerative medicine (stem cells), which provide alternative solutions for some of the most challenging orthopedic problems.
