Dr Georgia Georgiou

Dr Georgia Georgiou holds a first degree in Medicine from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and obtained her specialization in General Surgery at the First Department of Propaedeutic Surgery of the Hippocration Private Hospital in Athens upon passing the relevant exams in 2019.

In October 2017, she received a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens. Her doctoral thesis was held at the Breast Unit of the Hippocration General Hospital of Athens in collaboration with the Research Center of the Hellenic Cancer Institute. In the course of her involvement in research, Dr Georgiou completed the intercollegiate MA Program "Biostatistics" of the Medical School and the Department of Mathematics of the University of Athens.

In December 2018, Dr Georgiou completed a three-month training at the Division of Surgical Oncology of the Stanford University Hospital (USA) under the supervision of Professor Poultsides.

As far as her clinical work is concerned, she has already gained a lot of experience particularly in breast operations while she continues her training on the subject with participation in specific seminars and conferences in the field of breast cancer. Furthermore, Dr Georgiou is in the course of completing another MA degree on the subject of "Breast Diseases" at the University of Athens

From October 2020 to September 2023 she worked as a General Surgeon at Limassol General Hospital.

Since November 2023, Dr Georgiou provides general surgery services and specialized services on breast and thyroid diseases (clinical examination, risk calculation), percutaneous biopsies under ultrasound guidance, surgical operations with oncoplastic techniques, mastectomies with reconstruction, axillary surgery as well as operations for benign breast diseases.
