Dr Athanasios Polyzos

Dr. Athanasios Polyzos born and raised in Limassol.He graduated with honors from the 3rd Lyceum of Agios Ioannis in 2009 and then entered the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace in Alexandroupoli, after first completing the mandatory service in the National Guard.In 2016, he received his degree from the Medical School with a grade of "Very Good". He completed 2 years of residency in Internal medicine at the General Oncology Hospital of Kifissia and at the General Hospital of Serres. This was followed by working as a rural doctor for one year at Astros Kynourias Health Center.

In 2019 ,he moved to Athens for the main part of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and worked at the 251 General Air ForceHospitalfor 4 years.From the first year of residency he participated as an assistant and then as first endoscopist in numerous ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures.

 In the last year of residency, he participated in numerous workshops and he visited and trained many centers in Belgium and France .His training focused in complex polypectomies and in endoscopic treatment of precancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract with EMR (Endoscopic mucosal resection) and ESD (Endoscopic submucosal) techniques.
